Bainbridge Island Japanese American Community

Mission: To preserve the history and culture of Japanese Americans of Bainbridge Island and support education and community outreach that fosters a deep appreciation for diversity, justice, and the need for vigilant protection of our civil and constitutional rights.

Our major community event attracts 2,000+ families from around the sound to the Mochi Tsuki Festival. It's held at Woodward Middle School, where visitors experience the mochi making process, taiko drumming, origami, dance and learning about the history of Japanese in our region.

We need help setting up, and assistance in running the various activities. Anyone who is interested in Japanese Culture or learning more to help promote it is welcome.
